Logan Bandy is retiring from the Canadian Football League, according to his social media page.
The Saskatchewan Roughriders 24-year-old offensive lineman posted to his Instagram page on Friday that he is leaving the game after two seasons in green and white.
“Crazy to think after all these years I’m calling it a career,” the post read. “I’m so grateful that I’ve been able to share the field with so many of my brothers and play for some amazing organizations along the way. Thank you to everyone who’s helped me along the way.”
The 6-foot-5, 285-pound Calgary product was a fifth-round pick by the Riders in the 2021 CFL Draft. He returned to the University of Calgary that season to play for the Dinos before joining the Riders in 2022.
Bandy played 29 games for the CFL club over the past two years, while making 15 starts at centre. He was primarily used as the team’s backup lineman.
With the Riders set to open training camp on May 12, the retirement of Bandy leaves an opening for a young offensive lineman to rise up the ranks.
